The "Export Support Office" project, a collaboration between the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Trade, TOBB (The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey), İzmir Chamber of Commerce, and İzmir University of Economics Vocational School (http://www.izto.org.tr/tr/ihracat-destek-ofisi) has been supporting the country's export processes since 2019. Students enrolled in the Foreign Trade Program provide consultancy support to member businesses of the İzmir Chamber of Commerce in the areas of export, marketing, and branding, utilizing the practical training they receive as part of their education.
Export Support Office Project 2022:
Participation: The 2022 project, conducted between May and August, involved 26 students and 41 companies. Training: A total of 46 hours of practical training was provided to company representatives and students between May 23, 2022, and June 21, 2022. Engagement: Students conducted 47 in-person meetings with their assigned companies between July 5, 2022, and August 27, 2022. Support: The project supported the export, marketing, and branding processes of 41 İzmir-based companies. It primarily focused on identifying new markets and establishing connections for companies that had not yet started exporting or had limited export markets. Additionally, companies were guided on utilizing government incentives. Outcome: At the conclusion of the project, each student prepared a tailored "Export Market Research Report" for their assigned company.
Export Support Office Project 2021:
Participation: The 2021 project involved 18 students and 23 companies. Digital Implementation: The project was primarily conducted in a digital environment. Training: A total of 46 hours of practical training was provided. Engagement: Students conducted 378 hours of consultations from July 5, 2021, to August 27, 2021, working three days a week. Each student was expected to conduct approximately 21 hours of meetings, including online sessions and phone calls. Support: Assistance was provided to the export, marketing, and branding processes of 24 İzmir-based companies. Efforts focused on identifying new markets and establishing connections for companies that had not yet started exporting or had limited export markets. Outcome: At the end of the project, each student prepared a tailored "Export Market Research Report" for their assigned company.

Due to the pandemic, the project was not implemented this year.
Export Support Office Project 2019:
Participation: The 2019 project involved 11 students and 42 companies. Training: A total of 30 hours of practical training was provided. Engagement: Students conducted 231 hours of consultations from July 1, 2019, to August 23, 2019, working three days a week. Each student was expected to conduct approximately 21 hours of meetings, including online sessions and phone calls. Support: Assistance was provided to the export processes of 43 companies based in İzmir. Efforts focused on identifying new markets and establishing connections for companies that had not yet started exporting or had limited export markets. Additionally, participant companies were guided on utilizing government incentives for export-related activities.
