Welcome to Foreign Trade Degree
The Foreign Trade Program aims to equip professionals with the expertise required by international markets and intergovernmental trade relations, adding value to Turkey's export processes and meeting the demands of an evolving and dynamic global economy. Rooted in the needs of İzmir, one of Turkey's largest ports and commercial hubs, the program seeks to deliver the most comprehensive education in foreign trade, emphasizing the economic opportunities brought by globalization.
Our program produces graduates well-versed in customs regulations, foreign trade and exchange regulations, import-export practices, trade law, and international competition rules addressing the needs of both large and medium-sized enterprises operating in global markets as well as businesses engaged in various aspects of national and international trade. Given that a significant portion of Turkey’s foreign trade is conducted with European Union member states, the curriculum provides specialized training on foreign trade policies, professional foreign language proficiency aligned with foreign trade terminology, and knowledge of EU regulations and integration processes.
Graduates of the Foreign Trade Program are awarded the title of "Foreign Trade Specialist". However, depending on the specific field within the industry they work in, they may hold different titles. For example, a graduate employed by an international export company may work as a "Foreign Trade Expert". Additionally, our graduates have the opportunity to work in the following areas:
- Import-export companies
- Foreign trade departments of businesses
- Customs and freight companies
- International economic organizations
- European Union delegations
- Ministry of Trade
- Logistics companies
- Foreign exchange departments of banks
Beyond these career opportunities, graduates may obtain the title of "Customs Broker Assistant" by passing the "Customs Brokerage and Customs Brokerage Assistant Examination" conducted by the Ministry of Trade (https://ticaret.gov.tr/) and acquiring the B license.
