Erasmus Scholarship
Erasmus Student Internship Mobility is a process where beneficiaries gain vocational training or work experience within a partner company or organization in another participating country. Students enrolled in associate and undergraduate programs are eligible to benefit from the Erasmus Internship Mobility Program.

Eligible Internship Locations
Under the Erasmus Student Internship Mobility Program, students can complete internships in European Union countries at:
- Businesses,
- Training centers,
- Research centers.
However, students are not eligible for grants if they choose to intern at: European Union institutions or agencies, Organizations managing EU programs and receiving funding under these programs, National diplomatic missions of the host country.
Finding an internship:
Students must contact the institutions they wish to intern at directly. It is recommended to consult Erasmus Coordinator Dr. Kenan Demirel for guidance. To stand out, students should prepare:
A current resume in English (or the relevant foreign language), a profile on professional social networks such as LinkedIn or Xing, a tailored cover letter (or motivation letter upon request). For updated internship announcements, students can visit the "Erasmus Intern".
Application and selection process:
Announcements for grants are made periodically each year, depending on funding availability and approval. To stay informed about announcements, regularly check "https://oia.ieu.edu.tr/tr/announcements/type/all".
After receiving internship approval, students must complete their applications via the TURNAPortal on the e-Government system during the dates announced by the International Relations Office. Applications are evaluated by a commission appointed by the Rectorate.
Selection criteria:
The following criteria are used for selecting successful candidates;
- Cumulative GPA (50%),
- Foreign language proficiency score (50%)
Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.20 / 4.00 at the time of application.
Financial support:
Students may receive financial support from the European Commission for the duration of their internship abroad.
- The monthly grant amount is determined annually by the National Agency and announced in the Application Handbook.
- Financial support is non-repayable and is intended to assist with expenses during the internship.
If demand exceeds the allocated budget, additional funding calls may be issued by the National Agency. If no additional funds are available, selected students may choose to participate in the program as non-grant recipients.
Post-selection process:
After being selected, students must prepare and submit the following documents to the International Relations Office before the mobility:
- Internship Agreement (approved by both the university and the host institution),
- Insurance policy,
- Commitment form,
- Visa photocopy (if applicable).
For grant recipients:
- Provide your Euro account number to the office via petition.
- Sign a grant agreement.
- 70% of the total grant amount will be transferred to your account after the agreement is signed.
Students are responsible for managing their own visa application process with the consulate of the destination country.
